3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
Under normal use conditions,
this product is stable. May give off irritant fumes (SO2, SO3) and organic acids
under action of extreme heat. The product is astringent and of bitter taste.
In case of ingestion in large amount, the product may cause gastric disorders.

In case of fire, the product can give off SO2, SO3 and various organic acids. Respiratory masks are recommended.

10. STABILITY & REACTIVITY
Under normal use conditions, this product is stable. It precipitates in presence of metallic salts and specially iron ones and gelatine. At high temperature, product decomposition gives pyrogallol and organic acids. The product becomes oxidised by air.
11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
We have no figure on toxicological values actually.
The natural product, made of Sumac leaves, is obtained by aqueous extraction, clarified and modified to adjust the pH. There is no toxic or dangerous element in the composition of this product.
No disastrous effect, no sensitisation to this product have been reported until today.
As every pulverulent product the powder may provoke respiratory problems by
inhalation.
12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
The natural product of high molecular weight is part of the pyrogallic tannins, very easily hydrolysables. The product is eliminated from waste waters under the form of mud by treatment with alumine sulphate. Although the effects on environment and waters are not disastrous, at the moment we have no figure on ecotoxicity and biodegradability.
13. WASTE DISPOSAL
Dispose of according to local regulations.
The product is eliminated of aqueous solutions by precipitation under the form of muds with alumine sulphate (formation of alumine tannate).
Elimination of residue and packing by incineration.
