3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
Under normal use conditions, this product is stable. Astringent product which gives ellagic and chebulinic acids by decomposition at high temperature.

In case of fire, the product can give off SO2, SO3, pyrogallol. Respiratory masks are recommended.

10. STABILITY & REACTIVITY
Under normal use conditions, this product is stable. It precipitates in presence of metallic salts and specially iron ones and gelatine. At high temperature, may give pyrogallol and ellagic acid. The product becomes oxidised by air.
11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
We have no figure on toxicological values actually. The preparation is made with the natural ground powder of the fruit of a tree which can used in therapeutics or for animal food. Analysis on similar tanning extracts gives :
LD 50 oral rat 3,100 mg/Kg
LD 50 skin rat 7,000 mg/Kg
No disastrous effect, no sensitisation to this product have been reported until today.
As every pulverulent product the powder may provoke respiratory problems by
inhalation.
12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Biodegradability is low. The product is very sensitive to metallic salts and is eliminated from waste waters by treatment with alumine sulphate. The dry muds has to be disposed of in accordance with local or national regulations. Although the effects on environment and waters are not disastrous, at the moment we have no figure on ecotoxicity.
13. WASTE DISPOSAL
Dispose of according to local regulations.
The product is eliminated of aqueous solutions by precipitation under the form of muds with alumine sulphate (formation of alumine tannate).
Elimination of residue and packing by incineration.
