2. PRODUCT COMPOSITION

Composition Auxiliary synthetic tannin
Equivalence Neutralised products coming from the condensation of sulphonic naphtalene acid with formaldehyde.

3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION

Under normal use conditions, this product is stable.

The product is irritant for skin and eyes. In case of prolonged inhalation, it can cause respiratory difficulties and in case of important ingestion, stomach and intestinal troubles.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Skin contact Wash with soapy water
Eyes contact Wash with plenty of water during 15' and take medical advice
Ingestion Drink large amount of liquids and make vomit if conscious
Inhalation Place in a well ventilated area. Wash mucous membranes and take medical advice in case of persisting irritation.

 

 

5. FIRE PRECAUTIONS/FIRE FIGHTING

All extinguisher types can be used. The product is non flammable but combustible. Avoid dust formation.

In case of fire, it may give off SO2, SO3, NOx and acrid, irritant fumes.

People fighting against fire must wear respirators to be protected against irritant dust and fumes.

 

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE

Workers' protection Wear personal protective equipment, gloves and goggles.
Cleaning Sweep up and mix residue with wood saw or sand. Do not throw directly in fluvial waters.
Neutralisation Wash residue with water which should be collected and precipitated by the addition of gelatine or metallic salts.

Handling Wear masks to avoid respiring dusts or absorbing by inhalation.
Storage Store in cool dry place. Protect against moisture.

Under normal use conditions, this product is stable.

Decomposition products : May give off CO2, SO2, SO3, nitrogen and irritant fumes under action of extreme heat.

Materials to be avoided : Product reacts with iron salts, heavy metal salts, gelatine, albumine and oxidising agents.

 

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

The product is not very toxic. Oral Rat : LD 50 > 5,000 mg/Kg

Tests carried out on similar products give the following results :

Rabbit skin : little irritant

Rabbit eyes : slightly irritant

 

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

We have no information available regarding effect on environment and biodegradability. On similar products, we have the following figures
