VEGDYE MUS is a natural vegetable dye obtained from Yellow Wood containing a synthetic shading agent.

2. PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Aspect : spraydried powder

Colour : yellow

Total Solids : about 94 %

pH (10 % solution) : 8.0 +- 1.0

3. CHARACTERISTICS

The boiled extract of natural colouring matter gives a dyestuff's concentration varying according to age of wood, their location, diverse parts of the wood and oxidation degree.

In order to get uniform dyeing on fibres, it is imperative to add shading agent to vegetable extract.

As all natural wood extracts, VEGDYE MUS is a mordant dye. So final colours will depend on metallic salts used to fix the insoluble lake :

- Iron olive

- Aluminium yellow

- O.T.P. orange yellow

- Copper copper yellow

4. APPLICATIONS

VEGDYE MUS is not used alone. Generally it is employed as shading agent for natural and synthetic dyes bringing yellow/green yellow colouring principles to the main dye.

In this manner, we can obtain a colouring serie from havana brown to olive and black.

The main articles using VEGDYE MUS should be : box calf, garment, suede, bookbinding, lining.

Because dye is oxidized, VEGDYE MUS gives shades with better light fastness, better washing properties than the pure vegetable extracts.
