BLANTEX
1. COMPOSITION
Bleaching product based on dithionite of soda containing an optical blueing agent.
2. PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
Aspect : crystallized powder
Colour : white
Odour : slight smell of SOx
Total Solids : > 94 %
pH (10 % solution) : 5.5 +- 1.0
Bulk density around : 1.0 g/cm3
3. CHARACTERISTICS
DANGER OF SPONTANEOUS FLAMMABILITY IN AIR. KEEP CONTAINER TIGHTLY CLOSED.
BLANTEX is almost used for the bleaching of textile and animal fibres because of its very strong reducing power.
Slightly hygroscopic, the product has to be protected from heat and humidity.
BLANTEX allows to obtain deep white even in hard water by eliminating the natural greyish aspect remaining after ordinary washing.
4. APPLICATIONS
- Bleaching of natural or synthetic textile fibres
- Leather and fur industries
WOOLLED SHEEPSKINS
BLANTEX is mainly used for the bleaching of woolled sheepskins and gives bright pure white, even in hard water. In order to obtain good results, the wool has to be perfectly washed and degreased.
Use 2 to 4 g/l BLANTEX in a bath at 35°C during 5 to 6 hours or overnight.
Good results are obtained in acid media, around pH = 4/5, in combining BLANTEX with 0.5 to 1.0 g/l oxalic acid.
STRIPPING OF DYEING ON LEATHER
BLANTEX can also be used for partial stripping of dyeings made with synthetic dyes.
This effect is particularly interesting when precise shades are desired where the initial dyeing is too strong.
Due to its special formulation, it allows tinting and good levelling.
Quantity to be used : 5 to 20 % BLANTEX on dry weight.
