1. COMPOSITION

DUVALTAN RA is an aqueous solution of a sodium salt of acrylic polymer.

pH (at 20°C) : 8.7 +-1.0

Solubility : total in water

Density : 1.17 +- 0.01

3. CHARACTERISTICS

DUVALTAN RA is an acrylic resin specially formulated for the retannage of very soft item such as garment leather, cow softy, goat nappa.

Used alone in retannage, DUVALTAN RA fills the loose part of the skin and has a lubrificating action between the collagene fibers. To enhance the diffusion of the acrylic polymer into the inner layer of the leather, we advise to add DUVALTAN RA after neutralisation.

DUVALTAN RA has good light stability and it is fully compatible with syntans, dyes and fatliquors currently used in wet process.

DUVALTAN RA has the particularity of being stable in medium acid range and could be used to assist the pretanning of empty skin such as New Zealand Sheeps.

4. APPLICATIONS

All kind of skins which need softness without looseness :

- Garment leather 2 - 4 % on shaved weight

- Shoe upper softy 3 - 4 % on shaved weight

- Upholstery leather 4 - 6 % on shaved weight
