DUVALTAN PB is an aqueous solution of a sodium salt of acrylic polymer.

pH (at 20°C) : 8.7 +-1.0

Density at 20°C : 1.17

Solubility : total in water

3. CHARACTERISTICS

DUVALTAN PB is an acrylic resin formulated for the retannage of chrome leather. It brings appreciated softness and mellow to skins and allows to reduce loose-grain of the bellies and shoulders.

DUVALTAN PB has good light stability and does not interfere with the fixation of the first finishing layers.

DUVALTAN PB penetrates very well on neutralised blue leather.

The resin which has no tanning property fixes at the end of the process and before fatliquoring by acidification of dyeing and retanning baths.

Use of DUVALTAN PB is very easy and does not alter the fixation of syntans or vegtans.

4. APPLICATIONS

Numerous trials carried out in lab or industrially show that the best results are obtained with a % of DUVALTAN PB between 2 and 4 % (% on shaved blue weight). Penetration is ensured in 30 minutes.

DUVALTAN PB has to be used on well neutralised leather and before fatliquoring according to the following method :

- Neutralise

- DUVALTAN PB during 30'

- Retannage, Dyeing

- Acid fixation

- Fatliquoring
