DUVALTAN SM2

 

1. COMPOSITION

DUVALTAN SM2 is an aqueous sodium solution of copolymer for use in the leather industry.

 

2. PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Aspect : viscous liquid

Colour : yellow

pH (10 % solution) : 9.5 +- 1.0

Active substances : 20 %

Bulk density : 1.2 g/cm3 +- 0.1

 

3. CHARACTERISTICS

DUVALTAN SM2 has a 20 % polymer concentration.

DUVALTAN SM2 increases leather suppleness and keeps fine grain, pleasant touch.

In retannage of chrome-tanned skins, DUVALTAN SM2 allows better fixation of free-chromium and reduces chrome wastes in residual bathes.

DUVALTAN SM2 increases resistance of retanned leather to water and allows very good levelling of dyeing.

 

4. APPLICATIONS

DUVALTAN SM2 is used for supple and soft leather in the proportion of 2 % on wet-blue weight, either in short or long bath at 40°C :

DUVALTAN SM2 is compatible with all products commonly used during retanning and more especially :

fatliquors

dyestuffs

non-ionic products

amphoteric products
