DUVOIL HPB

1. COMPOSITION

Synthetic fatliquor obtained by chlorination of aliphatic hydrocarbons of high molecular weight.

2. PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Aspect : pale liquid, non viscous

Density (25°C) : 1,16 - 1,19

Average molecular weight : 390

Solubility : unsoluble in water, soluble in solvents

3. CHARACTERISTICS

DUVOIL HPB has the same lubricating properties than cold filtered neat foot oil but better constant in composition and particularly better stability with a frozen point around less 15°C preventing from the risks of fatty spew onto leather surface.

DUVOIL HPB is a chlorinated paraffin with a weak chlorine content which easily emulsifies with fatliquors having good emulsifying power (sulphoned sulphited).

The polarity of DUVOIL HPB allows to obtain better fixation onto the amino groups of the skin than in the case of animal or vegetable oils used alone.

DUVOIL HPB allows to increase washing resistance and thanks to its saturated aliphatic chains which are not sensitive to oxidation, it has very good light fastness properties.

4. APPLICATIONS

DUVOIL HPB is an auxiliary which brings the emulsion the same properties than neat foot oil.

Thanks to its good light resistance, DUVOIL HPB is commonly used on all types of full grain leathers :

- Garment leather

- Upper leather

- Upholstery leather

in the proportion of 1 to 2 % depending on the items manufactured.
