3. CHARACTERISTICS

RETAN CB is a sweetened extract with adjusted pH allowing quick penetration of the tannin and keeping good fixation.

For heavy leathers, RETAN CB has to be used at the beginning of tannage where it advantageously replaces catechol tannins (Mimosa, sulphited Quebracho) or at the end of the tannage in order to obtain pale leathers.

In retannage on light skins, RETAN CB definitely improves light resistance of vegetable retannage.

RETAN CB is mainly used for buffed and grained leathers.

RETAN CB finds a good application in furniture leather as it gives a pleasant noise.
