RETAN FG 211 is a modified extract based on Gambir belonging to the group of catechol or condensed tannins, obtained from the leaves and branches of Uncaria Gambir.

3. CHARACTERISTICS

RETAN FG 211 combines rapidly with the proteins of the skin in order to give plumped, supple tannage and fine grain.

Gambier extracts are rarely used alone because they produce spongy leathers. On the other hand, in retannage, it is possible to replace a part of the usual tanning extracts by RETAN FG 211 in order to obtain better touch and suppleness.

Besides the mellow touch, RETAN FG 211 improves the retannage of the flanks if it is used in combination with resins.

Thanks to its mellow and swelling power, RETAN FG 211 is particularly suitable for retanning the leathers which are too flat and firm after the first tannage.

RETAN FG 211 facilitates the buffing of chrome leathers and allows a perfect glazing in the case of glazed kids.

RETAN FG 211 is a great dyeing auxiliary either as mordant before dyeing or levelling agent on leathers and skins of dark shades. It is recommended for the production of chrome/vegetable or vegetable lining leather.

4. APPLICATIONS

- Retannage of chrome leathers and skins ;

- Mordanting before dyeing in order to soften and slightly plumped the grain ;

- Retannage of vegetable or chrome/vegetable lining leather ;

- Retannage of moderately supple leathers.
