3. CHARACTERISTICS

Thanks to its filling and softening properties, RETAN FGC is perfectly suitable for further processing of the leathers which are too flat and firm after the first tannage.

RETAN FGC enables to improve the touch and fullness of chrome tanned garment leathers (lamb, sheep and kids).

In the case of upper leather (sides) and compared to other tanning extracts, RETAN FGC better preserves the character of the chrome tanned grain and helps buffing of chrome tanned leathers : it is obtained a fine buffing effect with well separated fibres.

RETAN FGC improves the distribution of fatliquor into chrome leather.

RETAN FGC is convenient as mordant of basic dyes. It allows good fixing of pigments during finishing.

4. APPLICATIONS

Skins have "hand" when they are retanned with RETAN FGC. The grain is fine without being firm.
