3. CHARACTERISTICS

RETAN LUT has been specially formulated to enable chrome-free tannage of hides and skins in order to obtain white leather resisting warm water > 90°C, with very good light fastness and fine grain with pleasant touch.

The quick diffusion of masked aluminium salts and fast light vegetable extract allows chrome-free, supple, white tannage which can be completed either by glutaraldehyde, synthetic ( SYNTEX B2K ) or vegetable ( RETAN TB ) retanning.

In some cases, RETAN LUT can be used for obtaining leather resisting to boiling test when an aluminium salt is added during retannage.

4. APPLICATIONS

The " vegetable extract/aluminium " association allows numerous applications in tannage or retannage :

- Tannage of chrome-free upper leather which has to resist temperature over 90°C

- White tannage of upholstery leather

- Bleaching and fixation of vat liquors

- Retannage of leather to be buffed (Suede and Nubuck leather)

- Pastel shades
