Extract of Myrabolam manufactured with selected dried fruit of Terminalia Chebula.

 

2. PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Aspect : spraydried powder

Colour : yellow

Total solids : 93 - 94 %

pH (10 % solution) : 3.0 +- 1.0

 

3. CHARACTERISTICS

RETAN MDI gives leather a light yellowish shade. Containing a lot of very fermentescible sweetened principles, this extract produces considerable amounts of organic acids thus automatically and progressively rectifying the problem of acidity while fixing skin swelling during tannage.

The leather tanned with RETAN MDI is soft and very supple. It is recommended to use the product in mixture with classical tanning extracts (Chestnut, Quebracho, Mimosa) to have the characteristics of finished leather changed.

 

4. APPLICATIONS

- Acidification of pits liquors : 10 % RETAN MDI in the

second and third weak vat at every vating

- For the use in drum : vegetable tanned leather and particularly

upholstery leather

- For special items such as : upper leather, articles for saddlery and travelling

- Mordanting of chromed leathers

- In the dyeing of textile and especially cotton, for a good fixing of the basic dyes.
