3. CHARACTERISTICS

RETAN NBMTK is a modified tanning extract based on Sumac leaves coming from Rhus Cotinus and Rhus Coriaria.

RETAN NBMTK contains a high percentage of weak organic acids.

RETAN NBMTK combines with proteins and produces supple, not spongy, pale yellow leathers. It is particularly suitable for the tannage of reptile and crocodile skins.

RETAN NBMTK is also recommended for the tannage and retannage of lining and bookbinding leathers because this is the vegetable tannin having the best resistance to perspiration.

RETAN NBMTK is a very good mordant for dyestuffs and it is most specifically advised for improving basic dyes fixation. It ensures good levelling of pastel shades.
