3. CHARACTERISTICS

RETAN NCL is not sweetened but clarified and discolored. It is a complete extract recommended for its light color and good light fastness.

It can be used alone or mixed in all proportions with either vegetable or synthetic tannins.

RETAN NCL penetrates quickly and therefore is recommended to be used for ultra-rapid tannage, for all type of vegetable tanned and semi-chrome leathers.

The natural acidity of the extract corresponds to the pH used in tannery. So, it assures the maximum fixation of the tan.

RETAN NCL dissolves easily in cold water. It is advised not to go over 40°C and use of steam has to be prohibited.

4. APPLICATIONS

RETAN NCL is recommended for the vegetable tannage of cattle hides in order to obtain leathers of paler colour.

RETAN NCL is used for the retannage of chrome tanned leathers in mixture with other extracts so as to get better hand and pastel shades.
