3. CHARACTERISTICS

Sumac is one of the noblest and most used tanning extract. It is convenient for delicate tannage (Morocco, Cordova, luxury leather goods) requiring very pale, light resistant colour and good suppleness.

The main application of RETAN SL is the tannage of reptile skins.

RETAN SL is used in retannage to lighten the leathers and as mordant in the dyeing of delicate shades : it ensures very good levelling and better fixation of dyes.

4. APPLICATIONS

- Tannage and retannage of reptile, crocodile skins ;

- Retannage of fine skins such as lambskin, kid and box-calf ;

- Tannage of skins, to achieve a grain split crispation ;

- Mordanting of chrome leather prior to deing with acid dyestuffs

- Lacquering of basic dyes, prior or subsequent to dyeing ;

- As a levelling agent when dyeing.
