RETAN STF is obtained from ground Sumac leaves (Rhus Coriaria, Rhus Cotinus).

3. CHARACTERISTICS

RETAN STF is used for the tannage of all types of skins. It gives clear greenish colours with very good light fastness properties, and soft, light leather.

In vegetable tannage, RETAN STF is used for the production of special leathers : reptiles, Morocco, Cordovan leathers. RETAN STF is also used for the processing of light full veg, softy tanning without any risk of loose grain.

It is ideal product for retanning raw materials of delicate origin such as Asia or India cow and New-Zealand sheep.

On chrome leather, RETAN STF is recommanded for Nubuck and Suede leather since it allows very fine buffing of high quality compared to the results obtained with Chestnut or Tara.

RETAN STF has an excellent property for glazing and it gives a resilient natural smell to the leather.

4. APPLICATIONS

- Vegetal tannage and retannage with light weight

- Retannage of fine skins : lamb, kid, box calf

- Tannage/retannage of skins for obtaining nice characteristic and persistant odour

- Mordanting of chrome skins before acid dyeing

- Laking of basic dyes before of after dyeing

- Levelling agent : for chrome suede skins, mordanting before or during the dyeing with acid dyes provokes a slight tannage of the fibers : the fullness is improved and suppleness is not affected.
