SYNTEX CL is a calcium lignosulphonate obtained from sulphited licors of wood.

2. PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Aspect : spraydried powder

Colour : pale yellow

Odor : very light

pH (10 % solution) : 4.0 +- 1.0

Total solids : 93 % minimum

3. CHARACTERISTICS

SYNTEX CL is very soluble in water and it is mainly used as binding, dispersing and stabilising agents of emulsions

The concentration at 20 % of reducing sugars and the very high molecular weight give a slight tanning powder to this product.

SYNTEX CL is biodegradable and has little effect on effluents.

4. APPLICATIONS

In addition to its use in cements, ceramics, SYNTEX CL is an auxiliary for the retannage of hides and skins. It is used in mixture with vegetable and synthetic tannins to modify their characteristics and it allows better dispersion of dyestuffs.

SYNTEX CL is rarely used in the pretanning and tanning operations properly said.
