3. CHARACTERISTICS

SYNTEX DIBS is used on pickled skins or hides for pretanning and is an interesting substitute to products based on aldehyde.

SYNTEX DIBS gives a white leather with very good light fastness. SYNTEX DIBS has the advantage of containing neither aldehyde nor formaldehyde. With vegetable and synthetic tannins, tanners obtain leather with very low free-formaldehyde content.

Hides and skins pretanned with SYNTEX DIBS can be shaved without any difficulty with a better value for the shavings.

SYNTEX DIBS allows a very quick chrome tanning.

Fatty skins pretanned with SYNTEX DIBS can be degreased at a temperature of 50°C without any risk. This is a very important advantage for tanners for a complete degreasing in hot water which can be made with our Degreaser, Synerpal UC 100.

4. APPLICATIONS

- SYNTEX DIBS should be added without dilution in the drum as some precipitation could occur with water at pH>4,0.

- Pretanning of hides (upholstery, automotive leather) : 2-3 % on pelt weight. Used at pH < 3.5 it needs to be neutralised at pH 4.5/4.8 before samming and shaving.

- Pretanning before degreasing : 2-3 % on pelt weight. pH should be raised to 4.6 before degreasing.

Afterwards, skins are put in bath with SYNTEX PRA (2 %) during 1 hour before chrome tanning.
