SYNTEX LD is a substitution synthetic tannin based on phenol and sulphone.

2. PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

pH (10 % solution) : 4.3 +- 1.0

Total solids : 93 to 95 %

3. CHARACTERISTICS

Used alone, SYNTEX LD gives a moderately supple, soft and white leather, a fine grain with average elasticity.

SYNTEX LD precipitates in presence of salts and then is not appropriate for the tannage of pickled skins.

SYNTEX LD is an universal tannin for the retannage of all kinds of chrome skins ; it gives a moderately firm leather with tight grain and soft touch.

SYNTEX LD allows an uniform distribution of vegetable tannins and has a bleaching effect less marked than that of SYNTEX LDn°1.

Thanks to its organic acidity, SYNTEX LD produces a fine grain without crispation and assures an easy dyeing of leather.

SYNTEX LD is very interesting due to its quality/price ratio.

4. APPLICATIONS

- Retannage of chrome tanned leathers and skins for upper leather ;

- Retannage of vegetable tanned leathers and skins for equipment and morocco-leather ;

- Retannage of splits.
