1. COMPOSITION

SYNTEX LDn°1 is a substitution synthetic tannin based on phenol and sulphone.

2. PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Colour : white

pH (10 % solution) : 4.3 +- 1.0

Total solids : 93 to 95 %

3. CHARACTERISTICS

Used alone, SYNTEX LDn°1 gives a supple, round and white leather with good light fastness.

Due to its organic acidity, SYNTEX LDn°1 allows to obtain a fine grain without crispation. Leather dyeing is easier because the bleaching effect is not strong.

SYNTEX LDn°1 strongly precipitates in presence of salts and consequently is not appropriate for the tannage of pickled skins. On the other hand, it can be used for the pretannage of pelts before chrome tannage.

SYNTEX LDn°1 is an universal tannin for the retannage of chrome leather ; it gives average supple items, pale colours and has no disastrous influence on further dyeing.

4. APPLICATIONS

- Retannage of chrome tanned leathers and skins ;

- Retannage of semi-chrome leathers ;

- Synthetic pretannage of pelts.
