SYNTEX TFA

1. COMPOSITION

Aluminium salt, technically pure, for processing of white leather, Suede, Nubuck and chrome free leather.

2. PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Aspect : powder

Colour : white

pH (10 % solution) : 3.5 +- 1.0

Solubility : easily soluble in warm water

3. CHARACTERISTICS

SYNTEX TFA is generally used in combination with other mineral tannins (mainly chromium salts) for obtaining leather of pale colour or white.

As every aluminium salts, SYNTEX TFA is used in the retannage of chrome leather for improving Suede and Nubuck shearing.

SYNTEX TFA can be used for mordanting vegetable dyestuff and ensures better light fastness.

SYNTEX TFA is also recommended for producing wet-white leather.

SYNTEX TFA can advantageously be used in the manufacture of chrome-free leather and it allows to improve retraction temperature.

4. APPLICATIONS

Percentages to be used depend on the articles desired :

- Tanning (% on pelt weight) after chrome tanning 0.5 to 2.0 %

- Retanning for Suede and Nubuck leathers 2.0 to 4.0 %

- Mordanting of dyestuffs (% on dyestuff weight) 25 to 35 %

- Chrome-free tanning (% on pelt weight after tannage with RETAN LUT, RETAN TAC 2.0 to 3.0 %
